about

With these recordings a pilot project begins, the funds raised will be paid to develop a small recording studio in Burkina Faso, where we could invite many artists and anyone who wants to express themselves.
I dedicate this first collection to Yacouba Dembele, a dear friend who sadly died early, thanks to him I work exporting medicinal plants from this country with a company that I opened in 2008.

All recordings are done on site without professional machinery, therefore there are numerous errors that are very difficult to remove, I hope you will anyway appreciate.

Tracks:
1 Lailalà
Foune Dembele is Yacouba's sister, she has sung for several groups and toured extensively, track recorded at her home in Bobo-Dioulasso in 2007.
She was my first collaborator before moving to Italy in 2009.

2 Nouma ngenema
3 Naieremase
4 Sabari
Yacouba Dembele, recorded at an international festival on April 7, 2013 in Chieti, Italy.

5
Yacouba, Goni, voice.
Setou, lead vocal.
Minata, second vocal and choir.
Recording made in Bobo-Dioulasso in 2006 during my first trip to Burkina Faso, guest in an artist's house, 3 boys shyly improvised a small musical performance in my homage for the welcome, in fact the boy (Boano) while singing say Mark.

My name is Marco Billi aka jarguna, perhaps some of you know me, I have been producing music for more than 25 years, experimenting and sculpting sounds especially with electronic instruments, but also searching during all my travels for ancient sounds, tribal, rituals, or simple field recording.
In this project the path is to bring to light the most ancestral sounds, remote in the history of the human being, pass me the term, primitive, that primitive that binds man to the earth, a deep rooting made of respect for the land in which we live .
In fact, the name Mogoya soo comes from an ancient West African language, Dioula, a branch of Mandingo or Mandinka which means "The home of human beings".
Why exactly the Dioula? because I've been working in Burkina Faso since 2006 and it's thanks to this country that I want to start my project, where I met many artists and recorded several tracks.
In a world that is developing a lot at a technological level, often sterile, slaves of ourselves, my message is to listen to simplicity, the voices of not always confirmed artists but their purity evoke within us the vague memory of a freedom that we dare without understanding its foundations.
Peoples who live adrift in the eyes of Westerners, and instead are the few humans left free in this world chained and enchanted by our own vices and conditionings.
I want to give a voice to these people, simple instruments, not always perfectly tuned, on the contrary, we must remember that music all over the world has not developed in the same way, in a chromatic scale made up of 12 notes (intervals) tuned to 440 Hz or 432, but some cultures or civilizations have structured their sound imprint inspired by the sounds of nature, as all pre-Columbian civilizations did, or the overtone chants and hypnotic percussions of Tuva, some Indian practices use octaves with 22 intervals.
Furthermore, the contexts of music are not always just entertainment but often rituals, evocative (prayers and meditation), funerals.
Since I've been traveling and recording for almost 30 years, I've accumulated a decent sound archive that I'm now going to give them a new life with small releases.
