about

Third exit to Mogoya soo
In this album I present a small party held in the house of a family members of my dear colleague Mamadou Kone.
We are on the outskirts of the capital, while the young boys play and sing, the participants drink and dance in a circle as is their tradition.

Divided into 7 tracks just to make the album more usable but everything is done in one evening.
In the last track there is a sudden change of style as instruments and singers are totally different, just as the styles are totally different, as the latter is part of another tradition, namely the Mossi.

The Mossi live mostly in villages around the Volta River Basin, and are the product of a mampusi princess and Mande hunter. Their offspring, named Ouedraogo, is referred to as the father of the Mossi people. This narrative of their culture has been strengthened and carried through oral traditions of storytelling and song.

Unlike the first two releases here the sound imprint is more energetic, dedicated to dance, vitality, the social context of music in Africa is still a fundamental cult to keep families tied and in part linked to millenary traditions, now hidden behind a religious veil, but in their heart there is always something older than what was imposed on them.

Peoples who live adrift in the eyes of Westerners, and instead are the few men left free in this world. ... more
